This course aims to explore the portrayal of various issues in Korean society, such as different thoughts on reunification of the Korean peninsula, social inequality, and gender issues, on different platforms of media. By adopting discourses from social media, news articles, literature, film and TV shows, the students will have opportunities to understand contemporary Korea in diverse contexts and gain the ability to interpret multi-modal texts.
