The course will explore the cognitive and social nature of bilingualism and dispel myths (both negative and positive) about this complex phenomenon. Students will develop a sensitive view of advantages and challenges that come with knowing two or more languages and cultures, and the way identity, power and language interact in bilingual and multilingual spaces.
